Argamed
One of the most interesting and expensive substances in perfumery is agarwood or agarwood, also called aloeswood, eaglewood (the wood resembles eagle feathers). The scent of agarwood comes from the very heart of the tree. Aromatic wood occurs when an Aquilaria tree becomes infected. When the tree's immune system is activated, it creates an aromatic resin. The core of the tree, soaked in resin, darkens, becomes so heavy that it even sinks in water.
